Visit one of New Zealand's most renowned eco-tourism areas. A 6-hour return trip travelling the Otago Peninsula low road to Taiaroa Head, stopping for a look at Otakou Marae on the way.

Upon arrival at the Royal Albatross Centre you have the unique opportunity to view the Royal Albatross as you enjoy a 1-hour guided tour of the colony. We then enjoy a bit of lunch (at your own expense) before heading to the other stunning wildlife sanctuary of the day - Nature's Wonders. Here we take a 1-hour guided tour in a small coach over farmland to the wildlife viewing area.

Here amidst truly spectacular scenery, are the world's rarest penguins, Hoiho the 'Yellow Eyed', the little Blue Penguins, the New Zealand Fur Seals and Cormorants (shags) all living in their natural environment.

We return to the city via the high road for the most picturesque scenery towards the Pacific Ocean on one side, the Otago harbour on the other and Dunedin City straight ahead. We then vist Baldwin St (steepest street in the world), Otago University, and the Dunedin Railway Station before returning you to your cruise ship.

Please note, during the period 17th September to 23rd November, as this is the mating season for the wildlife, The Albatross Colony have now modified their tour during these dates so the tour is still possible. What the tour will not include is the use of one of their viewing hides. They still take you to other viewing opportunities and the rest of the tour content is the same.
